Which Cambridge English Qualification Is Right for Me?
Cambridge English Qualifications cover different levels of English, so the right exam depends on your current ability and learning goals. The main qualifications are A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. They are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

A2 Key

B1 Preliminary

How do I know my level?
Your current level should be considered before choosing an exam. A learner at B1, for example, may need more English development before attempting B2 First. A useful pathway is A2 → B1 → B2 → C1 → C2, but you do not have to sit every exam.
Should I choose a higher level?
Not necessarily. A qualification that is too difficult makes preparation unnecessarily hard. Choose a level that is an appropriate challenge and still matches your actual English and future goals.
